About Me

Aleya of Cairo is a highly sought after oriental dancer, choreographer and instructor. She has performed on The Nile Maxim, The Nile Pharoah, and many Five Star hotels in Cairo, as well as at many Red Sea resorts and in numerous festivals. She is also the creator and producer of www.cairobellydance.com   A website with authentic Egyptian teachers, teaching real raqs sharki (belly dance) and foreigners who live in Cairo.

Since 2012, she has been a  featured instructor at Egypt’s Ahlan Wa Sahlan Festival, the world’s largest belly dance event, and also had the honor of dancing for The Royal Family Of Qatar twice. She also recently appeared performing as a guest teacher on choreographer Raqia Hassan’s Volume 12 and 13 Choreography DVD’s.

Born in America, before moving to Cairo, she was a nationally known performer captivating and entertaining audiences as a soloist and with the professional troupe she founded and directed, the Negma Dance Company.

In 2008, she moved to Egypt to immerse herself in the culture and pursue her dream of working as a professional belly dancer in Cairo. The decision was easy for Aleya, who had previously traveled to Egypt every year to study with the masters of belly dance such as Raqia Hassan, Mahmoud Reda, Dina, Randa Kamel, Tito, Aida Noor and many others.  Aleya is the creative director/producer of cairobellydance.com. She is also an instructor in Ahlan Wa Sahlan Festival in Cairo, Egypt.

    Hi,
I would like to ask about private classes for belly dancing in Cairo. I don’t live in Egypt but I come from time to time to see friends. I love belly dancing and I’m planning to take it little bit seriously. Please email me all information regarding the private classes, such as location, cost, time etc..
    Thanks and best regards,
    Lina
