WE DID IT!
Wow, we finally launched Cairobellydance.com on April 28th, 2014. Now you can take classes online with Egyptian instructors and foreigners living in Cairo. I can’t believe that we are LIVE! Whoo hoo! I really adore the site, we are still working out some issues, and have to add more things but it’s up and that’s the best part.
I had a hell of a week. Between finding two baby cats in the street and taking care of them round the clock, trying to launch the site, and getting called to work at Nile Maxim for a few days, I just wanted to pull my hair out. Not only that, but the night we were launching, our internet service provider was blocking the site! Ugh! It was crazy. I told Ramy “No, we have to launch before midnight”. He says “What can I do? My hands are tied, they are blocking the site”. Ugh I was so frustrated. I don’t know what was going on, but we worked it out somehow, miraculously and launched one minute before midnight.
We launched on April 28, 2014. I hope everyone loves the site. We are only streaming each class for 30 days. There is no download at the moment, but maybe in the future we will sell hard copies. We think this is the best way to protect the teachers and the sites content.
As for the baby cats, one survived and one died. The boy that survived is crazy and full of baby energy and the little baby girl Loza, who was so beautiful and sweet died. She had Feline Parvo. A very dangerous and contagious disease and she passed away on the bed yesterday. It was heartbreaking and I’m still mourning her. I hope she is happy now and at peace and I hope she felt love even though it was only for one week. If you ever rescue a baby cat who is sick, please do research on the internet and take them to the doctor to find out the best way to take care of them. They need special attention and lots of fluids, 95% of kittens will pass away, but there are 5% that make it. I felt very responsible about her death but I did the best I knew how, and with all that I had going on, I wish I spent more time with her, but it was so difficult after we had to separate them because she was showing signs of illness. In hindsight I should have given her more fluids, but I really wasn’t that aware how to take care of a cat with parvo as I really didn’t even know what it was until I did research yesterday again about it, and she showed all the symptoms. Also, all your cats if not vaccinated are at risk so please be careful bringing a sick cat into your home. I’m still upset but the pain will go away eventually.
As for the Nile Maxim, it was a great time as always, and I have such joy working there and dancing. It’s a beautiful boat with a great stage and I performed with Randa Kamel’s band. I also went to the opening gala of Leila Farid’s Camp Negum Festival on the Nile Maxim as well. That was fun and it’s always great to see her perform. I really like her style and of course she is not bad to look at also! Hehe I hope you really enjoy the site and I would love to hear your comments about Cairobellydance. Please comment below if you have checked it out. See you in class!
